The individual lies at the heart of continuous learning and development in the modern organisation with both managers and Modern Workplace Learning Practitioners providing enabling and supporting roles. This graphic shows the different responsibilities for modern workplace learning based around the 4 D’s of Learning.

In summary, there are many ways that a Modern Workplace Learning Practitioner can enable and support the 4 D’s of Learning, but as this is new thinking it will first be important to establish a new mindset and culture of workplace learning.  This won’t happen overnight; it will take time to adopt new ways of working with managers and individuals.  It will probably mean working through a a number of steps to give every one time to adjust to their new work and roles.
