Next public workshop: 7 March – 8 April 2022

Continuous learning and development in the workplace is much more than continuous training. Whilst it is up to everyone to become a lifelong learner and keep up to date with what’s happening in their industry or profession to remain employable, it’s also up to L&D departments to help individuals develop the new skills of independent continuous learning. In this 5-week workshop we will look at how you can promote, enable and support continuous, self-learning and self-development in the workplace.

  • Week 1: The case for continuous self-learning at work
  • Week 2: Establishing a daily self-learning habit
  • Week 3: Building modern learning skills
  • Week 4: Adopting a formal process of self-development
  • Week 5: Promoting continuous self-development

This online workshop is not a traditional course:

  • The workshop is completed asynchronously – so you decide when you do the work and fit it into your working life.  There are no synchronous activities – so it is suitable for any timezone.
  • Each week’s work consists of a reading from the MWL 2022 resource and a practical task which you are asked to share with others in the group; in fact sharing and interacting with the other participants is a key part of this workshop.
  • The work commitment is about a couple of hours a week.
  • Jane Hart will be there to support you during the workshop period.
  • The workshop space and materials will remain available after the official end of the workshop.
